Read this article and find the answer. I click on that option not really a box, just a small circle that then becomes black.
But after the burning process there is no silence on my burned disc at all, the end of a track is immediately followed by the beginning of the next track.
I use several devices, a Philips cd player that is connected to my amplifier, and a portable Xiron discplayer. I also use a Philips walkman. They all show that the 4 seconds silence interval between the tracks on my burned cd is missing. In my pc I play the same music because I didn't delete the mp3 files that I used for burning. I use Windows Media Player.
But I don't play my burned cd in my computer. In the meantime, I have about vinyl records digitalised in my computer, ready for burning. Because the problems I have with adding silence in my ultimate burning session, I have started to open those recordings one by one and add 4 seconds of silence at the end of each track and then save it again.
So I include the desired silence in the track itself now. An immense job, but I see no other option. There is hardly any other freeware where you can add extra silence between two tracks when burning but if they do they usually have a fixed amount of seconds 2, where I want 4. Express Burn, that I used to use for my radio play recordings, is not free anymore, I used that in the past but it's only a free download now in a trial version, after some records being burned you have to purchase the software and that's no option to me.
I think if CDBurnerXP claims it can add an adjustable amount of seconds between the ttracks, it should do that. Hope to find a solution because opening about tracks for adding four seconds by hand is just something I'd rather not do Thanks for any help! I checked the docs, though I believed it to be unlikely, the varying pause feature seems to depend on hardware features, so it may indeed not work under some circumstances.
How urgent is your project? If you can wait a few days, I can give you a new version of CDBurnerXP that supports adding any number of seconds silence to the end of tracks automatically even without using the hardware "pause" feature. I wanted to implement this for quite a while now, so it's time anyway. For tracks, that seems worth it. I wonder if I install the pre-release version, will the original, current version I use be deleted? I 'd rather not want that.
In the meantime I add 4 seconds of silence after each track as described above before burning it to a cd. My player then "fades in" which is not in the original recording. By adding 2 seconds of silence the fade in takes place during that silence and that is much better, doesn't corrupt my first track.
I have purchased an album that is a dance cd from an online store. On the normal CD, the track marker are present, but the CD will play like it's one track. It's handy to have so I can skip a song that I don't like instead of having to fastforward through the CD and hopeing that i don't mess it up and get the CD player to play from the beginning.
