I'm off to try World of Warcraft and run some Furmarks test and will update once I get some more info. It appears this is the right fix, thanks for recommending this Charlybravo. Can someone post a link for the driver I was having trouble finding it perhaps I downloaded the wrong one. For me it was all about disabling powermizer I'm running fully patched Win7 Home Premium 64 and nVidia driver I go to the Nvidia site and download and install the latest driver for the m then I restart my machine.
I have a slightly different version of the nvidia driver but your link above looks correct. You'll need to install the driver and nvidia utilities first and run Powermizer afterwards. When you run it you'll see a couple of buttons to disable Powermizer when your laptop is using AC or when your computer is using AC and battery I selected this option. You'll have to reboot but after that Powermizer will be off you can turn it back on by doublelcicking on the powermizer applet again and selecting "On".
I haven't bothered to look in more detail at the voltage or any other adjustments that you can make but Charlybravo was correct, it appears the voltage fluctuations that cause Windows7 64 to throw an exception. Just my two cents but I dont think you need to disable the Bios Virtualization extensions, I dont see how they're relevant to this issue. Browse Community. Laptops General - Read Only.
But again, why would Nvidia or Dell care? Now, surprise of surprises, Microsoft says they're working on the problem.
After several rounds of Windows 10 feature updates reinstaing the problem though some feature updates didn't reinstate the problem because they preserved the necessary registry entries , now Microsoft says they care.
So, it would be possible for Microsoft to preserve the registry entries that are set by PowerMizer Manager. It would even be possible for Microsoft's Windows 10 feature update installer to create those entries all on its own, to improve Windows 10 reliability on computer that have Nvidia Quadro FX M and FX M controllers. I don't know if they'll really care, but it's interesting to see an announcement saying they care. This thread is locked. The batteries are available in the UK too, but as I kept it mainly plugged in these workstations were never really meant for portability as they use too much power and weigh too much so battery level was less an issue until you do the dastardly upgrades.

In reply to Gianluca Hotz's post on October 27, I cannot find a download site for the file that I downloaded a few years ago, but some sites link to a different filename which might or might not be the same program.
